What Was I Thinking! — It’s The Caped Crusader

That was an unexpected treat — Yum!

The Caped Crusader’s pack are all at work or school, so we go in during weekdays to see to her needs.

On this occasion, I wasn’t heading for her house. Her needs had all been met. I was having some me-time, armed with a cup of tea and a biscuit, enjoying some late October sun. I spotted a huge low-flying skein of geese that were begging to be photographed. I put everything down and scrambled for my camera.

At that point, a yip sounded from within the Caped Crusader's house. She’s at an age where if she barks to be let out, it is vital to be quick, to avoid a carpet cleaning operation.

I raced to unlock the door, then spun around to try to catch the geese. Goodness me, can’t geese put on a turn of speed to get themselves out of range! But almost before annoyance could rise, I thought ‘Biscuit!’ and spun back again.

Too late!

My finger, on autopilot, clicked the button and caught the Caped Crusader clearing a few stray crumbs from her lips. And she’d spilt my tea.

As for the urgency with which she demanded to be let out, we strolled around for 10 minutes before…
