I love to be gifted flowers.

Huge preference for plotted ones, but any flower non the less. The little weed from the hedgerow, the stolen one from someone’s garden, the big and vibrant one from the store.

There is something unpretentious and honest about such a gift. It says “I saw something beautiful and wanted you to enjoy it.”

It’s simple and ephemeral, and like a kiss or laughter, has no other purpose than to bring you a bit of joy in the present moment. And yet, unknowingly, brings another small message: “I believe you are worthy of beauty and abundance, and I value you”.

A flower will not stay to be remembered, it doesn’t aim to. But it will be non the less.
