Friendship Knows No Boundaries

It was an unlikely companionship. Lenny, the family’s Maltese/Shih Tzu mix, had been with them for 4 years when they adopted Aubrey, a beautiful, small grey kitten. There was concern surrounding the new addition, but the family was more than eager to welcome a new member. When Aubrey first arrived, Lenny would hide, run away while she was around, and eat sparingly. But as time went on, Lenny and Aubrey both realized that they were more like each other than they had initially thought. Time that was before spent making efforts to stay away from each other was now spent lying together on the couch, playing with each other’s toys, and venturing into unchartered territories throughout the house. The two became the best of friends and have left behind a legacy in the Rodriguez household: that friendship knows no boundaries, and that the one thing, or person, that you keep running away from may, in fact, be the one you need most.
