SKALE Labs, the core team behind the SKALE Network, an open source elastic blockchain platform designed specifically for scaling Ethereum, today has announced over 40 integration partners and validators, in addition to the Dapps that joined the SKALE Innovator program and are currently building on the platform. This collection is one of the most significant ecosystem announcements as part of the network launch in recent years and signifies the importance and strength of the Ethereum Developer Ecosystem which SKALE is proud to be a part of.

SKALE is a key element within the Ethereum ecosphere given the advantages offered by its forward-looking protocol design decisions. Key features include EVM compatibility, full Solidity language support, BLS cryptography, an RRI-based pooled security model, and having much of its operational management running in the Ethereum network. This combination of compatibility and connectedness with the Ethereum mainnet enhances SKALE’s effectiveness as a high-throughput execution layer for Dapp developers, protocol designers, and other crypto-based builders.

As of today, just one month after the launch of the SKALE Mainnet — and after two plus years since its inception — SKALE unveils a rich set of pre-packaged integrations with major wallets and auth providers, data storage solutions, data explorers, oracles, validators, and blockchain API connectors, along with support for the most commonly used token standards and developer tools used by the Ethereum community. This support makes it possible to use SKALE to build and run Dapps with near-zero learning curve while taking advantage of native commonality with and connectivity to the Ethereum mainnet.

Ethereum has clearly taken a vast lead in terms of developer traction and ecosystem integrations. A strong and comprehensive ecosystem is critical in a decentralized world and something that is not as easy to build and sustain as it might be in a centralized world. Open standards are paramount and only technically-deserving, performant, and secure technologies last. Having a rich set of partners is testimony to the years of hard work from the Ethereum developer community. The SKALE Network is excited to support this broader community and also benefits from interoperability within the Ethereum stack.

SKALE provides developers with Ethereum-as-a-service functionality, with the ability to run small, medium, and large sized SKALE chains, each connected to and compatible with the Ethereum mainnet. Each SKALE chain can support up to 2,000 transactions per second with full EVM-compatibility all the while providing faster commit times and drastically reducing operating costs.

An advanced security model that is rooted in the Ethereum mainnet is at the core of the SKALE design. A set of over 25 smart contracts running on the Ethereum mainnet controls SKALE network functions such as chain creation, validator registration, node selection, node rotation, staking, bounty payment, slashing, and more. In addition, the network uses a large pool of validator nodes that are randomly selected and assigned to SKALE chains and then frequently rotated to prevent collusion and other malicious activities. Significant validator staking, decentralized network monitoring, and an incentivized reward system further enhance the protections of the security model.

The rich set of SKALE ecosystem partners is critical not only to the growing maturity and breadth of technology in the Ethereum community but also to a shared mission to accelerate end user adoption of decentralized solutions.

SKALE Ecosystem Partners perspectives

“Great user experience is critical for all our Braintrust customers, which means we look deeply at how we handle smart contracts. SKALE is an excellent solution for us because it not only helps us dramatically lower our spend on Ethereum gas fees, which have skyrocketed. It also ensures that transactions are handled quickly and efficiently, and not constantly subject to the ups and downs of mainnet activities.”

-Adam Jackson, CEO Braintrust

“End users just want to use a great product, regardless of what network it’s on. Most network interactions should all be behind the scenes. We work hard to provide a gateway that enables people to use any great tool or product on any platform or any blockchain and have that all run seamlessly. We power over 80 applications and maintain a simple gateway where users can get access to all these different applications from a single access provider. The SKALE Network and the Portis Wallet have much in common. We have both been created by teams that put ease of use, security, and performance at the top of our design criteria.”

-Scott Gralnick, Co-Founder, Portis & Director of Global Partnerships, ShapeShift

“With transaction demand and fees rising on Ethereum, the need for Layer 2 solutions to help scale decentralized applications is as pronounced as never before. We’re excited to support SKALE’s mission by helping to run Ethereum-compatible, cost-effective, and highly performant side chains.”

-Brian Fabian Crain, CEO and Co-Founder, Chorus One

“As a validator, we work with a lot of networks and can’t emphasize the importance of a well-thought through security model and incentive arrangement. Theoretical modeling can only take you so far but practical solutions that can scale and provide real-world protections against collusion and bad actors will be the ones that succeed in this generation and end up powering the Dapps that take over the world.”

-Konstantin Richter, CEO/Founder, Blockdaemon

“We are happy to be bringing The Graph to SKALE’s layer 2 ecosystem. With this integration, developers building on SKALE chains will have access to The Graph for building fast, reliable, fully decentralized applications.”

- Yaniv Tal, Co-Founder and Project Lead at The Graph

“Arweave’s mission is as important as its underlying technology. The goal is to allow us all to remember and preserve valuable information, apps, and history indefinitely. By preserving history, it prevents others from rewriting it. This goal is only possible when you have applications on par with or better than those in the centralized web. Having SKALE connected with Arweave makes it all that much easier for developers to turn their inspiration into the next amazing permaweb app.”

-Sam Williams, Founder and CEO, Arweave

“With our knowledge working on over a dozen staking networks, we can confidently say that operating on SKALE and working with the team has been a great experience. The SKALE reward structure is designed with validators in mind, and we’re excited to see it launch.”

-Lorien Gabel, CEO, Figment Networks

“Chainflow’s feeling excited to have supported SKALE over the past year. SKALE’s dedication to manifesting a diverse validator set, as well as its thoughtful approach to implementing validator feedback leaves us feeling hopeful for the network’s decentralized future. We’re glad to be along for the ride!”

-Chris Remus, Founder, Chainflow

“New uses that require new technologies like Oracles for example, have found a place in the ecosystem, SKALE uses state of the art blockchain technologies and approaches like BLS rollups, randomness rotation and incentives, and SGX to allow near-instant and low-cost transactions on Ethereum. What’s even better is Dapp developers can use their existing tools and migrate to SKALE quickly, nothing new to learn. We deployed our application in no time and are proud to provide our decentralized oracle services to the Dapps on this platform.”

-Hrishikesh Huilgolkar, CEO of Razor Oracle Network

“SKALE’s elastic blockchain network, innovative approach to solving Ethereum’s scalability issues, and laser-focus on the end user experience make it one of the most exciting projects in the space. With its high throughput, super fast commit times, and near-zero gas costs, it is paving the way for wider blockchain adoption. We are excited to watch SKALE bring blockchain to the mainstream.”

-Ganesh Swami, CEO & Co-founder, Covalent

“SKALE is perfectly positioned to take Ethereum and its dApp developers to the next level while pioneering scaling solutions for the Blockchain industry! ThreeFold and SKALE are such a beautiful fit in this regard. By combining SKALE’s modular protocol and ThreeFold’s universal substrate for decentralized storage and compute, developers are able to build highly scalable dApps and deploy workloads that are closer to the source, cost-effective, and easy to manage. We are excited to collaborate with the SKALE ecosystem.”

-Adnan Fatayerji, Co-founder of ThreeFold.io
