Normally, people are always suggested to have 8 hours of sleep per day. There are some reasons to saying that.

As sleep has many effect on human’s systems, people having sleep deprivation are more likely to suffer from health effects and chronic conditions, like high blood pressure, heart failure or stroke, obesity, depression, diabetes.

But there are some people who have mutating genes which make these feel energenic for the rest of the day and rarely to get sick after sleeping 4 to 6 hours per night. The most well-known genes triggering shortening of sleep duration or sleep need, if mutated, are DEC2, NPSR1, mGluR1, and β1-AR genes.

These mutation genes were discovered from European people who have short sleep behavior. Not only were they developed from long sleep deprivation, but also transferred from their family members.

At this point, you might wonder if my purpose is to encourage people to reduce their sleep hours?

Absolutely not, because not everyone can do this since it’s only present in a few populations and the highest concentration of these genes was found in most European so that it’s hard to transfer DNA across countries

Additionally, every coin has two sides is the same as these genes that also have their disadvantages which are much more likely to suffer adverse health effects as they need to be getting more sleep and are choosing to go without.

In-order-that, Sleep is a necessary activity that helps your body and mind to replenish, allowing you to wake up refreshed and aware. To get enough rest also helps the body stay healthy and avoid illnessess.
