Best Bachelor and Bachelorette Party Ideas

Being the Maid of Honor or Best Man at a wedding comes with a lot of responsibilities; dress holding, speech making and, maybe most importantly, bachelor or bachelorette party planning. Planning the perfect night or weekend is not easy so here are some of our favorite party ideas for inspiration.

Get the crew out of town

Destination bachelor(ette) parties seem to be all the rage these days. Depending on your destination of choice it could be easy to snag cheap airfare (keep an eye out for Southwest’s flash fare sales) or opt for a good ol’ fashioned road trip to a nearby city for the weekend.

We recommend: Austin or Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, or Boston, MA

Take advantage of the nightlife in your own city

Getting out and experiencing a new destination is always a fun adventure, but there’s also something to be said about getting down at all your favorite bars in your own city. Make a reservation at the future bride or groom’s favorite dinner spot and then plan a bar crawl of all the best spots in town. Obvious shirts and Party City gear are musts for this adventure.

Have a relaxing spa weekend

Some brides and grooms are just not the party types and that’s totally fine, who doesn’t love a good weekend filled with pampering?! Here are some of the best destination spas in the U.S. and this occasion definitely calls for monogrammed robes.

Try your luck at a casino

There’s fun to be had by all at the casino (as long as no one is gambling away their life savings) so this could be a fun getaway for any future bride or groom. We suggest making a weekend out of it and booking rooms at the casino or a hotel nearby so everyone can enjoy themselves and so those who might not be as thrilled by gambling have a place to hang out and enjoy other activities like the hotel spa or hanging by the pool. Here are some casinos in the U.S. that are worth traveling to. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Enjoy the great outdoors

A weekend spent hiking and camping could be a great idea for the more adventurous, outdoorsy bachelors and bachelorettes and really we could all use some time to unplug. Travel + Leisure has some suggestions for the most scenic places to camp in the U.S. and here is a camping checklist so you make sure you pack everything you need to make sure the weekend goes off without a hitch. Matching flannels might be the move here.

Taste some spirits of your choice

Whiskey, beer, or wine tastings are a great bachelor(ette) activity to include in any weekend getaway or if you’re staying local you can make a day of it by planning a brunch beforehand or a dinner afterward. Another fun option is to take a cocktail making class so do some research about the options in your city. (We’ve been dying to try a cocktail techniques class at The Boston Shaker.)

Go thrill seeking

Not for the faint of heart, but maybe there’s no better time for an adventure than right before your friend is about to be tied down for life (we didn’t mean for that to sound so ominous). If you’re going to fully commit to daredevil mode here are some of the best skydiving centers in the U.S. and the highest bungee jumps. Otherwise, maybe opt for something like ziplining or indoor skydiving. Any of these options takes sweating-for-the-wedding into a whole other context.

Enjoy some music

There is nothing better than sharing an evening of great music with all your closest friends. Plan a nice dinner and then surprise the future bride or groom with tickets to see their favorite artist (there are some murmurs that these bands will be touring in 2019). Or make a weekend out of it and head to a music festival with the crew- Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Coachella, Boston Calling, and Ultra Musical Festival are just a few of most anticipated festivals next year.

No matter how you choose to celebrate the bachelor(ette) we have your transportation covered. Rent a party bus or another private vehicle for the bachelor(ette) weekend.
