For some fall means apple picking, pumpkin-everything, oversized sweaters and all the pie you can eat, but for others fall means one thing and one thing only; football.

On this edition of the ‘Weekend Packing Series’ we cover all the essentials so you can be the life of the tailgate:

  • Coolers and ice (and extra ice): for those who are not as price conscious we recommend one of Yeti’s hard coolers otherwise, Igloomakes a more affordable one that can hold up to 140 cans.
  • A portable grill: the Coleman RoadTrip grill comes highly recommended from our resident football fans.
  • And of course food, food, food: the food can really make or break a tailgate and there are a couple of avenues depending on whether or not you decide to bring a grill. There are the classic burgers and hot dogs which are a must, and here are some of Food Network’s favorite tailgating recipes for when you decide to lug that grill along or here are some of their favorite snacks that you can prepare ahead of time and just pack in the cooler.
  • Beer, and more beer!: this one is pretty self-explanatory.
  • WATER: again, probably self-explanatory, but after all the beer from above you’ll want to stay hydrated for the game.
  • A canopy tent, folding table and folding chairs: you should definitely set up a home base for friends (new and old) to come and hang out.
  • Sunscreen & sunglasses: you will be outside all day after all and there’s nothing that can ruin your week more than a bad sunburn from Sunday’s tailgate.
  • All your favorite team swag: you have to make your loyalties known!
  • Corn hole or other lawn games: if you really want to be the life of the party we recommended bringing along some games- GoSports makes a portable cornhole set that is really easy to pack up. Giant Jenga is also a crowd pleaser or some good old-fashioned ring toss.
  • Fully-charged phone and/or portable charger: don’t miss out on any of those photo ops!
  • Portable speakers and an awesome playlist: we recommend the JBL Flip, it’s small and waterproof, but still has great sound quality. Oh, and we put together this poppin’ playlist that should be perfect for every tailgate audience.

Cooler? Check. Beer? Check. Your entire crew? Check. $10 rides to Patriots Games all season long? Check.

That’s right, you don’t have to worry about how to get to Gillette this year because we have $10 roundtrip bus rides all season long that will fit everything on this list and all your friends! Grab your seat!
