Create dynamic button group symbol set in Sketch

Would you manually create these button group UI elements every time when you need to change the states of each button? My answer is NO!

Every UI design dreams about a clean, functional, and well-organized sketch library to use in daily basis design works. I have been spent years in two startup companies in New York to help them to build design system, data visualization product UI from agriculture data to mortgage data.

Button Group is one of the most essential UI elements in any design library. I created a fully customizable and dynamic button group symbol in sketch. You can change the state of each button, relabel it, and configure the combination. I am going to cover all the good stuff about my button group sketch symbols in this article.

Build the Basic UI

It doesn’t matter how many buttons in the button group. We can break it into three buttons — Left, Middle, and Right.

If you need rounded button, add N px to left and right button. See the above image.

In this way, configuring the combination of button group is very flexible. You can add as many Middle button as you need to create a button group contains multiple buttons.
