How to create an equilateral triangle in Sketch

Have you ever tried to draw an equilateral triangle in Sketch? I have tried that and I was a little bit angry because I was not able to do it (quickly). Not untill an idea came to my mind.

We all know how to add a regular triangle in Sketch: Insert -> Shape -> Triangle. But one can hardly draw an equilateral triangle with this tool.

An equilateral triangle in Sketch

I bet that the video above says it all. The way how to do it is pretty simple. Insert a polygon and decrease the number of Sides in the right section of the Sketch window to three.

Change the number of sides to three to get an equilateral triangle in Sketch

And do you wonder how to draw an object that is expanding from the center (not from the top-left corner to the bottom-right)?

From the center drawing in Sketch

First of all hold the shift key in order to draw a square. You start drawing from the top-left corner by default. If you want to start drawing from the center (as in the right part of the vide above) hold the shift and option (alt) key and draw the shape.

I hope that this tip can save you some time. Do not hesitate to recommend the article if you find it useful.

See you soon with more nice Sketch tips and tricks. Bye bye!
