After a successful Open Mic night before Thanksgiving, Project Venue will host its next event on December 23rd.

The Christmas themed Open Mic night is notably the most popular Project Venue event throughout the year, as students from all social groups come together and perform holiday songs.

“Christmas Open Mic is my favorite all year because everyone is in the holiday spirit and it’s just a happy time,” said senior Dan Boyd.

While most Open Mics draw the same crowd of about 50 kids, typically more students attend the pre-holiday event.

Although he said the arts scene isn’t really his place, even Colan Gulla plans to attend the Christmas Open Mic.

“I don’t go to them often,” Gulla said, “but I heard Christmas Open Mic is the best.”

The event drew over 100 students last year and has been hyped up once again by Project Venue.

Project Venue encourages students to venture out of their comfort zone and come sing a song, play an instrument, read a poem, or just come and watch.

Admission will cost $2. Students can also bring a canned good to gain admission and are reminded to wear an ugly Christmas sweater!
