Q: Dear Jack and Jill, Valentine’s Day is coming up and I am dreading being single again on a day when all of my friends have plans with their significant others. What should I do to survive being solo this Sunday?

Dear Valentine’s Day Dilemma,

Valentine’s Day isn’t just a day for couples. It’s also a time to reflect on your own relationship status, especially if you’re currently single. If you don’t have a significant other, it’s simply because you just haven’t found the right person for you. Instead of staying home and being sad, invite some friends over for a girl (or guys) night in! Order some food, find a chickflick on Netflix, and put on your comfiest pajamas. A night in can be just as fun as a night out. Remember, don’t measure your own life or relationship status against a friend’s. Who needs a boyfriend or girlfriend? Spend this Valentine’s Day giving yourself some TLC.

Dear Valentine’s Day Dilemma,

For a single person, Valentine’s day can be a blessing in disguise. Sure, you know your friends will be out this weekend with their significant other, but you can’t let that phase you. Valentine’s day is a great time to reflect, look yourself in the mirror, and think, “Would I even want to date myself?” If you’re single on valentine’s day, odds are, no. Look at it this way, this year’s Valentine’s day is a wash; but you have 365 days to become a complete and absolute stud. First thing you gotta do is look at the guy who’s getting all the girls, then completely copy him; individuality is dead. If you haven’t found someone by being yourself by now, you probably never will. Next, hit up GNC, buy all the protein you can. Remember, it’s not about what you do at the gym, it’s about telling the ladies you go to the gym, and then impress them by taking a swig of your protein shake. Last step, get noticed. Whether it’s by a bold fashion statement, being a huge tool, or excelling in a sport that shows off your new shredded physique. With all these tips, next year’s Valentine’s day is sure to be the best of your pathetic life.
