Back to Vancouver — Cycling Along the Seawall
It’s great to be back in the amazing city of Vancouver, BC, Canada! Due to travel restrictions, we weren’t able to come back for the last few years, so with the ACM SIGGRAPH conference back here in person for 2022, I was not going to miss the chance to get back. After a long evening traveling, I was still a bit tired, but was not going to miss out on the chance to rent a bike and ride around the city. I originally planned to get one of the free bikes provided by the Westin, but there was already a line when I got there, and apparently, most of their bikes were out of service. Instead of waiting, I went across the street and got one at Coal Harbor Bike Rental. They are highly rated and have plenty of bikes, including electric eBikes.
For this first ride, I decided to do the whole loop around the sea wall and downtown. Starting around the cruise ship terminal, the sea wall goes all the way northwest around Stanley Park at sea level, past Third…
