Croatia Airlines “Business Class” Zagreb (ZAG) to Split (SPE)

Croatia Airlines Turboprop for the short hop from Zagreb to Split

This was a quick 45-minute domestic flight from Zagreb to Split, Croatia on a small Dash 8 turboprop, I believe this was the first propeller plane I have flown on commercially in over 10 years…we just don’t see them much anymore in the US.

Lots of countryside and apartments

The flight was quick and generally pleasant, uneventful other than the lack of anything that could be described as business class about it. In fairness, this is typical of European domestic flights, where standard economy seats are blocked off with a movable curtain at the front of the plane. This is in contrast with international European business class and US domestic first-class flights, which typically have larger and wider seats with more legroom.

In this case, however, unlike in larger planes with 3–3 seating and the middle seat blocked off (sometimes with a small table in between), this tiny Dash 8 turboprop is 2–2 seating, and all 6 seats were filled so no-one had an open seat next to them. I even had the honor of sitting next to an…
