What happened at Skillenza in 2019? You ask.

Well, it was a fun-filled year with more enterprises and startups embracing the model of challenges and #hackathons to brand themselves, solve problems and hire engineering talent. We are now a 600K+ strong community of developers, data scientists, and innovators.

The tech ecosystem is realizing the power of hackathons and even our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi talks about hackathons how the government is using it for collaboration.

We are nothing without our #community of engineers. To top it all off, Microsoft supported our biggest Community Initiative — Devengers that grew to 7K strong and is expanding rapidly. You can see why our users love the Devenger initiative.

We introduced a new category of hackathons for Venture Capital funds and worked with two of the most prominent VCs in India, Blume Ventures and Kalaari Capital, and their amazing portfolios.

Watch the video to know more about the Bootstrap Paradox hackathon by Blume Ventures.

Startups like Grab, Livspace and Cars24 used the hackathon as a talent branding tool and engaged with 100s of smart engineers.

We worked with brands like Societe Generale, ShopX, Samsung, Rapido, Dunzo, Data Resolve, YuppTV, GlowRoad and SoluM to help them hire the best talent through #challenges.

Orient Bell, YES BANK, Unilever and Mercuri Goldman joined the bandwagon of #digital disruption by using the power of crowdsourcing and hackathons to solve real business problems. I am personally betting on this new wave of innovation and we will see more companies embracing it for changing the way they do business.

The year 2019 was an eventful year in terms of Diversity initiatives — GoJek hosted 125+ women, developers, for a 24-hour hackathon; RedHat organized a successful diversity hackathon and GHCI empowered women engineers from tier 2 and tier 3 cities. We have more in store for women developers and 2020 will be the biggest year for diversity and inclusion.

Campus engagement with Incture, PWC, Palo Alto Networks and Weir Ensci saw engagement from amazing student communities.

Corporate Gurukul engaged with students from over 50 Institutes in India for Internships and Scholarship programs in Singapore.

We ended the year with a high note and introduced a new category called #acquihire and successfully helped Letstransport to acquihire a startup of 6 members.

Our vision for 2020 is to touch the lives of 1 Million plus engineers and empower them to shine in their careers and engage with enterprises and startups.
