How to Stop Being So Forgetful
Effective techniques to help you avoid distraction.
Last Friday night, I forgot to close the patio door of my home and my 2 indoor cats proceeded to run away.
If you know me personally, read my work, or follow me on any social platform, you’d know why how much of a fundamental crisis this was. We only noticed about 45 minutes later, so after 3.5 hours of frantic searching and another 3 hours of praying, our fur babies came back home.
I am not the first person in the world to make this mistake. Except this particular one was the drop that spilled the glass.
In the past two weeks, I lost my spare car keys, my credit card, and forgot my lunch at home (twice). I misplaced my phone in my closet, a kitchen knife in the fridge, and my work keys in a bathroom. When I did end up finding the keys, I proceeded to then lock them in my office (and consequently, lock myself out).
Forgetfulness happens to the best of us. But what do you do when it happens so often that it consumes such a large amount of your time, and leads to mortifying consequences in your life? When do you decide enough is just goddamn enough?
