Novak Djokovic is the current world number one ranked tennis player. He is in an epic battle with Federer and Nadal to become the most winning grand slam player of all-time. Federer currently has 20 titles, Nadal has 19 and Djokovic has 17 wins. In 2016, he became the first player since Rod Laver (1969) to hold all the four grand slam titles at the same time (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon & US Open). He has been ranked as the best player in the world for 282 weeks and holds the highest match winning rate in the Open Era (84.3% wins).

Growing up

Djokovic grew up during two wars and for two and a half months during the bombings of Belgrade he spent several hours per day in the shelters. Living through the bombings made Novak tougher and more determined to reach his goals. Rather than becoming angry or frustrated, he used adversity as motivation to achieve something.
