€50.000 grant awarded to develop `Dingo` Smart Ski technology for avalanche prevention.

Norwegian smart ski technology company, Think Outside, has been selected by the European Commission for the H2020 SME Instrument program.

We will use the awarded grant for a feasibility study, together with ski manufacturing partner Åsnes Ski (Active Brands), for commercialization of our Dingo avalanche technology. The grant will also be used in the companies’ strategy to launch the Dingo technology internationally.

Think Outsides’ proposal was one of the few selected by the European Commission. Out of 2148 applications from 43 countries, the success rate was 7%.

‘H2020 is a Champions League for Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME). This is for companies with global ambitions and solutions with growth and scale potentials. Only one other company in the region of Hordaland, Norway has achieved this grant, and yet to date, no company in the region has achieved the phase two grant. We believe Think Outside can be the first.’ says senior advisor Ingvild Håvardstun Kjørrefjord in Innovation Norway.

This grant award makes Think Outside eligible to apply for the European Commission for the H2020 SME phase two program, where up to €2.500.000 is available for the right candidate.

We would like to give a special thank you to Rianne Vogels our grant writing consultant, BTO, Innovation Norway and Startup Lab for all the support.

THINK OUTSIDE is a pioneer in avalanche safety and ski performance metrics. Think Outside´s Dingo technology will bring precautionary snow analysis into the skiing mainstream. Skis powered with Dingo technology will offer real-time snow analysis to detect avalanche risks and advanced motion tracking of ski speed, location, turns, force, and more.
