For Peace

we must unite

In the name of art or otherwise,
the need to understand emergency
of survival, existence and empathy,
we must unite, we must unite

The artists speak of destruction
yet secretly desiring world peace
so that they can get back to writing
about birds, leaves, pen and clouds,
they are tired too, of writing blood
and deaths, now they just speak the
language of irony — peace and disturbance

For all we know, we are slowly reaching
a place that we didn’t dream of and not
that dreamy one but dark, and now it’s
our collective responsibility to wipe
the slate cleaner than the clean

Artists need a prompt and there’s
no bigger an urgency than that, and
for this one, we must unite so
that eventually we are all saved,
literally —
