Ministers Of Words
A Poem
It’s not just a poem
Not the mere play of words
It’s the poet’s thoughts laid bare
Words of hope, sometimes despair
It’s not just the rhymes
Not even the rhythm in every line
Neither the love for ironies nor similes
But that each stroke of line be given life
Life to the frail and those of age
Stanzas to calm those unyielding nerves
Different genres knitted in your web
All hail the ministers of words, love and light
To love and life
Hope and despair
Comfort in chains
Let the ink bleed telling the tales
Rebellious words to change the times
Letting your piece rise against the tides
Knowledge imparting, ignorance renouncing
Never rejecting the call of duty
