I kept running to the peak,
despite the harsh sunlight,
and the wind pushing me back.
I closed my eyes and listened to the world.
"You're doing it wrong!",
they say.
And so I followed them.
Over and over.
But none of them seemed to care.
The world was against me.
I was sick of it.
Losing the spark I used to have.
It felt dull.
Until I stopped.
The wind blew softly,
and the sun was soothing.
The afternoon skies were ethereal.
A sight I've never seen
until I opened my eyes.
I felt complete
as if a missing piece was filled.
At that moment,
I was at the peak of the mountain.
