Skycoin Partners with Jiangxi University of Software Professionals
On September 26th and 27th, 2019, Brandon Synth, the founder of Skycoin led a group of Skycoin team members in a visit to Jiangxi Software Vocational Technical University (referred to in this article as Jiangxi Software University or “JSU”) for a two-day exchange visit. Over the course of the two-day visit the team discussed blockchain technology and the education of future blockchain developers with JSU faculty members. These discussions were such a success that the two parties agreed to enter into a major strategic cooperation to fully support the talent and development of China’s blockchain industry.
In addition, Synth personally presented a lecture on blockchain technology and the powerful ecosystem built around Skycoin. Receiving insight from someone so highly regarded in the industry was a treat for the students who listened eagerly to the man who has been developing blockchain technology for over a decade.
As part of the strategic agreement, Skycoin will cooperate with Jiangxi Software University around the following five key areas:
1. Building the Skywire Network: First, Skycoin will build a Skywire mesh network at the 3,600-acre university campus, equipping the school with a reliable, secure, next-generation encrypted network. This network will be developed in tandem with the New York City Skywire mesh network, which is already under active development.
2. Establishing SKY Innovation Lab: Skycoin will set up a well-equipped “Skycoin Innovation Lab” at the University, investing in technical coaching and software and hardware support staff for the development of Skycoin’s ecosystem of products.
3. Start a CX Blockchain Programming Language Course: Skycoin will work with the University to offer CX programming language courses to its students. CX is a general-purpose blockchain programming language created by Skycoin and based initially on Google’s Golang. Students will go through a number of courses to quickly master the use of CX for blockchain application development and be ready to contribute to the ecosystem. This will have a massive impact on the advancement of the powerful CX language, the limitless potential of blockchain technology, and also Skycoin’s own ecosystem.
4. Set up a dedicated project incentive fund: In the future, Skycoin plans to set up a fund to encourage students to develop applications on Skycoin’s Fiber blockchain platform. The fund will be used exclusively to reward innovative and high-quality applications and products built on Fiber using the CX programming language.
5. Skycoin will serve as a technical consultant for the Jiangxi Blockchain Academy: Skycoin will also serve as a consultant for the Blockchain Institute of Jiangxi Software Vocational Technology University, providing technical guidance for the college, and working with the school to fully cultivate Chinese blockchain talent and potential.
This is an exciting time to be working with blockchain. China’s blockchain industry has invested heavily in research and development of blockchain technology, and have made significant technological and scientific innovations. In addition, and the national digital currency issued by the People’s Bank will also soon be available. Skycoin is a leader in the blockchain space and will continue to revolutionize the industry. Jiangxi Software Vocational and Technical University
Jiangxi Software University is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education and founded in 2003. In 2018, the Ministry of Education approved the school to be upgraded to a vocational school at the undergraduate level and was in the first batch of 15 undergraduate vocational education colleges in China. On May 27, 2019, the Ministry of Education approved the name change to Jiangxi Software Vocational and Technical University. The school has 12 undergraduate courses of study, and 32 specialties in software engineering, information security and management, and blockchain technology.
Jiangxi Software Vocational and Technical University is also the world’s first school to issue university admission notices via blockchain. On July 31sht 2019 admission letters were issued via blockchain to the 2,000 newly recruited undergraduate freshmen. Earlier, in June, more than 1,900 graduates were awarded a digital certificate, also permanently stored on a blockchain.
Because these certificates are securely stored on a blockchain, the student's education history is easily authenticated and verifiably true. This is great for employers who can skip the step of checking references and focus on more important tasks.
