SKYFchain Joins DOCOMO’s Program to Implement 5G Technology for Fast and Secure Data Transfer

SKYFchain took part in NTT Docomo 5G Open Partner Program. The Program started on the 3rd of August. The objective is to run the test flights of SKYF drones on SKYFchain platform using NTT Docomo 5G communication technology.

5G technology supports multiple high-speed connections. Compared to LTE, it brings more opportunities and can be considered as a new era of communication for various industries and tech areas including autonomous cars, vehicle-to-vehicle and road-to-vehicle connections, machine learning and others.

According to the INTEL’s report, every car in the future will manage approximately four terabytes of data. Thus, machines should be able to send & receive large data bundles, and any delay in transfer may become crucial, especially for the autonomous vehicles industry.

Using the 5G technology, the SKYFchain can keep all the unmanned vehicles in the system under real-time control including the cases when manual control is required, such as a high resolution 360 degrees video of fire extinguishing mission or cleaning the power lines insulators.
