App Directory Spotlight #7 — /done, Nikabot & Nestor

/done is an app built by the team at HeyRide to help broadcast wins as a team as they happen. On top of sharing wins the team found that raising awareness of what was being accomplished resulted in improved productivity overall. To use the app, add it to your team, designate the channel where you want /done work to be posted and share about your completed tasks. The HeyRide team named their done channel #Flywheel after the effect described in Jim Collins’ book Good to Great, which is all about building team momentum. Nikabot is your hands-free, non human team project manager! Every day Nikabot asks the members of your Slack team, “What project did you work on yesterday?” She then gathers this information, creates accurate Gantt charts, and reports this data split up by time, project and person. When you add Nikabot to your team she will give you a link to your team’s console for a birds eye view on what’s happening. She also delivers periodic reports to let all team members know what everyone else is working on — especially useful for totally remote teams. Nestor is a fully customizable, programmable Slack bot. You can customize Nestor to connect with your favorite products for work like Heroku, trello, Github, Mixpanel or Envoy, or you can get Nestor to do standups and collect team information.
