TL; DR: slackcommunity.com, our new hub for Slack Platform Community, is live! Apply to organize your local chapter and join a global network of Slack developers, builders, and platform enthusiasts.

Developers are integral to the power of the Slack platform. Your zeal for building on Slack is infectious and inspiring. We see you online, answering questions, creating homegrown tutorials, and generously sharing your expertise with one another. We also hear you. No matter where you are in the world, the feedback is similar: in-person meetups are a missing piece of the Slack community puzzle. As more and more work gets done in Slack, community support is essential for everyone’s success — whether you’re just getting started, or you’ve been developing on Slack since the dawn of APIs.

That’s why we’ve launched slackcommunity.com, where you can lead and grow your own local Slack Platform Community chapter.

What you can achieve

The Slack Platform Community (SPC) is made up of local meetup-style groups run by dedicated volunteer organizers who want to help others have a great experience with the Slack platform. As an SPC Chapter Leader, you’ll have the chance to share your Slack Platform skills, connect with like-minded folks in your area, and hone your leadership capabilities. You’ll have access to a Slack community workspace to connect with other organizers, Slack experts and users. Plus, selected swag exclusives!

We’re here to help, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned meetup organizer or you’re just getting started. You’ll receive resources and training to get your local community activated, best practices for planning events, and guidance around growing your chapter.

Leading a meetup community isn’t everyone’s jam. That’s okay! Join SPC as a chapter member meet industry peers and deepen your understanding of building on Slack. Sign up for your local group or for the community overall — we’ll let you know when a new chapter launches in your area.

Now is the time to build the future of work, together. Will you join us?
