As someone who has been in the work-from-home game a long time — it’s almost like an endless night from which I cannot escape — I know it can be difficult to stay focused. Whether your job just went remote because of a pandemic or you’re the off-season caretaker of a haunted hotel, these tips should help you from becoming a dull boy.

1. Designate a workspace

Make a space in your home that’s just for work, so that you can separate your work life from your home life. It doesn’t have to be an entire room — it could be a simple, wooden desk in a grand lobby. The floor-to-ceiling windows of hotel lobbies make them ideal spots to stare out into the vast, Colorado wilderness and contemplate whether or not to murder your family.

2. Plan for distractions

School and daycare closures mean kids are home too. Make sure they’re occupied with plenty of puzzles, games, and toys. Tricycles are a great purchase for kids who like to ride up…
