What is your school’s educational philosophy?
The Brothers Grimm Forest School provide a hands-on, child-led educational experience that is rooted in the natural environment. Our approach is to respect whatever choices children make about how they spend their day, whether that be scavenging for food, building a shelter, or fighting off wolves dressed as elderly women. We promise to treat your child as if they were our very own unwanted stepchild.

What kind of child would be a good fit for a forest school program?
Our students are resourceful, confident, curious, resourceful, self-motivated, creative, resourceful, independent, and above all, resourceful. Really, we cannot emphasize enough how important it is for children to be resourceful if they want to succeed here. If your child is the sensitive type who complains about a single pea under twenty layers of mattresses, they may be better off at the Hans Christian Andersen Nature School down the road.

Does my child need to be potty-trained to attend?
Don’t worry, that’ll be the least of their problems.
