Gen Z English Department Course Offerings
ENGL 1010 — Introductions to AI Writing
Like the cool parents that would prefer that if you’re going to drink, you do it in the basement, Introductions to AI Writing assumes that students are going to use artificial intelligence to write everything for the rest of their lives. And so with that in mind, our downtrodden faculty members have decided that it’s in their best interest to teach any class that’s offered to them, including this AI one! Please note: This is the only required English course for first-year students. God help us all.
ENGL 2000 — Shakespeare Was Sus
Last year’s course evaluations revealed that many students found Shakespeare, “not bussin.” What? How? Why? Those are questions that we aren’t going to ask. Instead, we’ve created a course that will take a cursory glance at Shakespeare and his plays, relying mostly on vibes and whatever else our students say they want us to rely on.
ENGL 2250 — Foundations of Texted Emojis
Why type “yes” when a simple 👍will do? Why tell someone what they said was funny when you could hit them with a 😂? Why take the time to text that you’re tired when 😴 accomplishes the same thing? This course will answer exactly those questions and dozens like it…
