Hemingway’s Mr. & Mrs. Elliot Try To Conceive While Vacationing In The Bahamas

Mr. & Mrs. Elliot tried very hard to have a baby. They tried as much as Mrs. Elliot could handle at the age of forty. Many people believed they were not having a baby because of a problem with Mrs. Elliot, who was a woman and women disintegrate easily. Especially Southern women, which is what Mrs. Elliot was. Also, Mrs. Elliot was a good deal older than Mr. Elliot. So it must be her.

Mrs. Elliot held Mr. Elliot close and said: “We just need to relax. Let’s try to have a baby in the Bahamas.”

Mr. & Mrs. Elliot tried to have a baby on the plane. At first, Mr. Elliot was reluctant to join the mile-high club because he was not a rotter. But Mrs. Elliot thought she was ovulating somewhere over Georgia.

When they landed, they tried to have a baby again in their taxi. The taxi driver was a nice man. He put on soft reggae and did not glance back in the rearview mirror more than three times.

One time when he caught their gaze in the mirror, he commented that Mrs. Elliot looked old enough to be Mr. Elliot’s mother. Mrs. Elliot was used to those types of comments. She replied, “Actually, he’s my DADDY!”

Mr. & Mrs. Elliot tried to have a baby in the lobby of the Atlantis Resort, but they were stopped by a woman wearing a…
