Honest LinkedIn Updates
I walked into my boss’s office today, sat down, and outlined why I deserve a title change and raise. I didn’t have an appointment. I just pulled a chair up to the desk and started talking.
I offered him irrefutable data and KPIs that illustrated how much I had impacted the bottomline over the previous fiscal year. I also brought up ideas and future projects that I thought would help the company in the future.
I was poised, confident, and fully in charge.
When I was finished, my boss looked me dead in the eye and asked, “Who are you, again?”
I didn’t get the raise or the title change.
The takeaway: Sometimes bosses don’t know who you are.
So this happened!
I am proud to announce that after two amazing years with my previous company, I have accepted a new job with a worse title at a crappier company.
I am beyond grateful for this new opportunity. Especially since I was unceremoniously let go from my last workplace two months ago.
This new role should give me the money and health insurance needed to survive.
Looking forward to what the future holds and hopeful that this new company doesn’t fire me like the last one did.
