I Want A Candidate Who Will Focus On The Issues I Care About

Why won’t they tell me exactly what I want to hear?

I’m waiting for a presidential candidate to talk about the things that matter most to voters, like the critical issue of the barista who was rude when I asked him for a free caramel shot. When will they announce their plans for getting him fired? Or the chicken wing place near my house that ran out of honey barbecue sauce. Neither candidate has even mentioned it.

Instead, they’re giving speeches on topics nobody cares about. They’re obsessed with the price of gasoline, but I don’t own a car. They discuss approaches to homelessness, but I live with my parents. They argue about crime, but I’ve never been the victim of a crime, unless it’s the “crime” of GameStop charging me $24.99 for Grand Theft Auto V. If one of the candidates took a stance on that miscarriage of justice, they’d have my vote.

Politicians need to come down from their ivory towers, and see what’s happening in the streets of America, where it takes me over an hour to walk to the nearest liquor store.

It’s like they’re afraid of saying anything specific. They offer vague platitudes about helping the economy, but they never tell us exactly how they’ll put more money into the pockets of Americans. Will they slip cash…
