You misheard their names over and over (and over and over) in the misheard lyrics of iconic songs, but what happened to these accidental celebrities after the tunes fell off the charts? Here’s how they’re handling the afterlife.

WHO: Lisa Brown, from Hazy Shade of Winter, The Bangles, 1987

MISHEARD LYRIC: “Look around, Lisa Brown, and the sky…is a hazy shade of winter”

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Lisa Brown’s interest in weather and climatology led her to undertake the most important study of the 1980s: the effects of Aqua Net on the ozone layer. Climate change deniers forced her to lose her grant, but she went on to find love and redemption with Jason Waterfalls (of TLC’s 1994 misheard lyric “Don’t Go, Jason Waterfalls”). The pair were married in a misheard lyrics-themed wedding and danced all night to “Hold Me Close, Tony Danza.”

WHO: Sam Pedro, from “La Isla Bonita,” Madonna, 1986
