Our house, our rules
DO enjoy perusing the owner’s manual for the espresso machine that resides among the ceramic figurines of bakers, butchers, and French chefs on the kitchen countertop.
DON’T feel obligated to go to all the trouble of making your own espresso when there’s a lovely artisanal coffee shop right down the street.
DO return coffee mugs and spoons, if you happen to use any, to their forever homes in their respective cupboards and drawers.
DON’T ever put coffee mugs in the same cupboard as tumblers and water goblets. (This should be obvious, but you would be surprised.)
DO take great care with the stemware, as the brand has been discontinued.
DON’T hesitate to grab a clear plastic party cup from the dispenser next to the refrigerator should you choose to drink wine or other beverages.
DO respect the individuality of the spoons, each of which has a replica image of a different historic castle.
DON’T lay the spoons down in contact with each other; they are not for spooning.
DO appreciate that our bookshelf arrangement has been curated with care and intention.
