Hello today’s speaker,

After careful consideration, we’ve come to a consensus that grumbling “good morning” once was fine, but asking for it again with more energy is simply too much. We cannot do better than the original response, so don’t try to extricate more enthusiasm from us, this collective crowd of strangers. In fact, we are setting a healthy boundary on repeating ourselves going forward. Got it?

We know you were trying to get us more engaged, but we want to live our most authentic lives, which does not include soothing your ego with an additional morning greeting. But here we are, with our eyes and minds open. That wasn’t enough for you though! You couldn’t stop yourself from seeking further external validation.

We think that the problem wasn’t so much with us to begin with, but rather with you. Maybe you were nervous and hoped for the audience to give you more? Maybe the crowd in your head was filled with…
