What do we all want in the next Animal Crossing game? (Community Write)
For our first community write, let’s tackle this topic together! Like in the game itself!
1. A lot more villagers.
In the original GameCube version of Animal Crossing, released in the year 2001 in North America… you were able to have (estimated) twelve or fifteen villagers in a town at once. Now you can only have nine, or ten if you count the campsite villager you are able to obtain later on through progression. I would like to see this return in the next game.
2. Support for Multiple Nintendo Platforms
I’d like to see an Animal Crossing game released on BOTH the 3DS and Nintendo Switch. Not many people that I know are able to afford the Switch, so having this option would be so awesome! However — it’s not one that Nintendo is very likely to consider.
I also don’t want to see it fail with multiplayer, so figure out a way to make it cross-compatible via the internet maybe? That’d be cool.
3. Another Relaxing Soundtrack
The soundtrack in Animal Crossing: New Leaf (2012, 2016) was relaxing. So relaxing that I even have the full soundtrack in my “workload” playlist so that I am able to listen to it while working at school or even at home doing chores! I would love to see this return in the next game.
The23rdGamer, from the Beta64 Discord, backs me up on this.
4. EVEN MORE Customization Options
I’ll run through each thing in a separate paragraph to keep readers from getting confused.
Clothing: I’d like to see more clothing styles be sold on mannequins together. So that you may buy them together. Maybe you can obtain this feature through progress, like you do currently with the sewing machine in New Leaf.
Home customization: Curtains were added in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (2016), as well as the ability to have (selected) items on the ceiling. I would like to see this get delivered to the main series. For sure. It’s a cool idea and definitely could use some screen time. Just make it so users can see it!
Touch Screen Tools from HHD, available on 3DS/2DS: If the 3DS isn’t dead this year, then we may as well hope for touch screen tools that available from the start. Let’s face it. They’re handy and easy to use. Great job, Nintendo. You did something right!
