The upcoming Salesforce release at the beginning of 2019 is full of surprises with an introduction to a new UI stack called Lightning Web Components and sunsetting of Flash-based Cloud Flow Designer. Lets find out what Salesforce has for us in the bag.

1. Lightning Web Components

Now you can build Lightning components using two programming models: Lightning Web Components, and the original model, Aura Components.
Lightning Web Components brings the latest advancements in JavaScript and web standards to the Lightning Component framework.
Lightning web components are custom HTML elements built using HTML and modern JavaScript. To admins and end users, they both appear as Lightning components.

2. Goodbye Cloud Flow Designer. Hello, Flow Builder!

Starting with the Spring ’19 release, Cloud Flow Designer is being replaced by Flow Builder. It will streamline flow building and maintenance with a simplified user interface. The new UI does not require Adobe Flash anymore; UI built with new stack makes it easier to choose the right elements and resources for the flows by using standard controls based on the Lightning Design System, familiar shapes for icons and a simplified toolbox.

3. Print a record page in Lightning

Print view option is now available in Salesforce Lightning experience. On a record home page, click Printable View.

The printable view opens with the record details expanded or collapsed, based on visibility on the record homepage.

4. Thanks Badges in Lightning Experience (Pilot)

Chatter users can now give thanks from a user’s profile, a record, or a group in Lightning Experience. Let your coworkers know how much you value them. Thanks badges are a great way to appreciate your co-workers and teammates right within the chatter feed.

Click the Thanks tab from a Chatter feed, and then enter the badge details.
