Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is inarguably the most influential streamer in esports right now. His chat is a hotbed of conversations discussing Fortnite and gaming, but the audience also engages brands and products. With esports sponsorships increasing in frequency and value, it is important to understand who the audience is and how they interact with brands. To do this, the analysts at Slash 2 measured the portion of conversations referring to brands and identified the 10 most discussed.

0.7% of all chat comments referenced a brand

Two of Ninja’s sponsors, Samsung and Red Bull, made the top 10 list of brands mentioned. These mentions coincide with the airing of Ninja’s Samsung Galaxy ad, and a partnership announcement with Red Bull for a new year stream marathon in Time Square as the month closed out.

Despite Ninja’s personal preference for PC games, Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony were twoof the most discussed brands in October and accounted for more than 20% of all brand mentions. This is primarily due to Fortnite’s popularity on multiple systems and cross-platform capabilities. Users in Ninja’s chat often try to connect with others to team up and play.
