Minecraft Legends, a game that combines elements from Minecraft, Age of Empires, and Happy Wars, has been creating quite a buzz in the gaming community as a player-versus-player (PvP) game. However, it has been plagued with issues that take away from the overall gaming experience.

Build up the fort, scout, gather, fight the Nether, or harass the enemy. There’s so much to do if you can stay connected to the host.

The game’s client-side hosting system is one such issue that seriously affects its stability. The lack of a host migration system in case the host disconnects gets, bored, or rage quits can lead to ongoing matches being abruptly canceled. This is frustrating and makes players feel like they have wasted their time. It’s like flipping the Monopoly board over, undoing all the progress made so far.

If my friend was to join he would be placed on the opposing team. If he did manage to get on my team and someone from the other team left the lobby, he would be placed on the other team again. This causes a lot of timesink just to play with people you know as a team.

Besides the PvP match stability issues, Minecraft Legends also lacks an in-game party feature, making it difficult for players to team up with friends. If players join a game with their friends, they are automatically assigned to opposing teams, causing them to leave and rejoin multiple lobbies and ongoing games, disrupting the gameplay experience.

The only reward/recognition is these same five accolades. Some of them aren’t really that special. It's kind of an insult to injury because this is all you get to remember the match by. We deserve a rank system, but will probably just get a battle pass instead.

For a PvP game, it’s crucial to have a ranking system that provides players with incentives and goals to strive for. However, Minecraft Legends currently lacks such a system, and implementing one would not be feasible due to the game’s inherent instability. The absence of a ranking system leaves players feeling unfulfilled, and there is no tangible reward for winning or losing matches.

The lag is only as bad as your connection to the client host. If they drop out for technical or other reasons the game is over. It’s fun to know I’m playing against people in Japan sometimes.

Introducing a clan system to Minecraft Legends could be a welcome addition to the game’s current features. A system like the one seen in Rocket League would allow players to create teams and wear their team colors and capes, adding a sense of community and team spirit. With a clan system in place, players would have the opportunity to create and join groups with friends, giving them a chance to work together towards a common goal. The addition of a clan system, in conjunction with a ranking system, could provide the game with the longevity it needs to keep players invested in the long term.

You don’t need to be grouped up with friends on voice chat to enjoy the game. There is a very elementary ping system and it gets the job done.

Minecraft Legends has great potential, but it falls short due to stability issues and the absence of essential features such as an in-game party system and ranking system. These issues undermine the overall gaming experience and make players feel like the game never even happened. Despite its flaws, Minecraft Legends is still an enjoyable PvP game that is refreshingly easy to get into, but it will require significant improvements to attract and retain players for an extended period.
