Bits for the Weekend is a bi-weekly roundup of links we’re sharing and discussing in the office. Keep up with the daily buzz and follow us on Twitter.

The heat of the past two weeks might be getting to us, but we still manage to dig some interesting bits from the vastness of the Internet. This time we have a cool new TV show, a bar where they chose quite an unusual way to consume the alcohol, and some Converse controversy. So turn your ACs to full blast and have a nice read!

The X-Files Lego Campaign

Childhood’s TV stars taking to Twitter to campaign for their show’s LEGO sets. These are, truly, blessed times that we live in :) — Vojta

Work Sans

A fairly nice new open-source sans-serif if you grow tired of Open Sans and Lato :). Also on Google Fonts. — Jakub

Alcoholic Architecture

A bar requiring much less effort than usual to make you drunk. — Mirka

Vojta: I swear I was planning to go to London soon before I’ve seen this!
Mirka: Sleighdogs retreat? :P
Vojta: Retreat? No surrender!

John Stewart’s Greatest Takedowns

The Daily Show without Jon Stewart — I am curious. Here are his top takedowns as voted by the internet. — Karl

Cassius and Clay

Archer visuals + Archer, Modern Family and Community writing + post-apoclyptic chicks = ♥♥♥ — Vojta

Fuzzy Bottoms Converse

Converse now has patches of fuzzy materials on their sole (on the parts that are not needed for traction), which lets them be categorized under a patent for house slippers with fabric soles and therefore save around 90% of the import tax (since they are made abroad). Pretty crazy. — Jakub

Jakub: Another, more concise, write-up. “Many have reported that the fuzz is not permanent and completely rubs off after being worn for about a month.” :) No idea how this is legal.
Vojta: Or, more interestingly, necessary…
Jakub: Seems like americans do care a lot about their slipper costs.
Vojta: There was a revolution about tea — will the next one be about slippers?
Karl: What would the slogan be? No taxation without…
Vojta: … relaxation!

What was your favourite Stewart takedown? Would you pay a visit to Alcoholic Architecture? And how would you like having LEGO characters from your favourite TV show? Tweet us @Sleighdogs!
