Details of youth

Can the imperfection of a detail be beautiful and capture my attention? I wondered when I saw for the first time Marcel Obal’s photographs. The empty seats of an abandoned movie theater, the curtains from which transpires a lazy light, the view of the distant mountains, but above all the elusive and unconscious faces from which emerges a youth that has given up the pursuit of perfection. Are we therefore faced with the awareness that all idols have collapsed and we are left alone in the night to illuminate each other as best as we can, whether it is a red light or that of a sunset far away before everything ends.

Marcel Obal is a photographer from Ljubljana. He is studying biomedicine and in his free time he devotes himself to film photography. The authenticity, the colors and experimentation are the things that inspire him the most. Here you can see his instagram page.
