Our inaugural airdrop is an ode to the pioneers of the digital frontier — the Roblox fanatics, the Sandbox virtuosos, and other trailblazers of the virtual worlds. Through such extraordinary individuals joining SlingShot DAO community, we’re also giving back to the very people who have revolutionized the digital landscape.

This airdrop is a love letter — a token of gratitude for the tireless efforts in forging immersive experiences, nurturing friendships, and reshaping the online world. With such trailblazers of the virtual worlds at our side, there’s no telling how far Slingshot DAO will go.

Claiming Your Airdrop & Unlocking Voting Power

To check airdrop eligibility and initiate the claiming process, simply visit www.slingshotdao.com/airdrop and follow the prompts. Users will be presented with a “claim & lock” option, as locked tokens grant ‘voting power’ — the fuel for our community-driven platform.

Voting power is used to cast your ballot for the gaming ideas you believe deserve to come to life. The top ideas at the end of each epoch secures funding from the treasury for development. Airdrop recipients will have their $SLING locked for 60 days, after which they can do as they please, including locking tokens for up to 4 years to maximize voting power. Lucky recipients have 90 days to claim their airdrop as of May 5th. After the 90 days, on August 3rd, any unclaimed tokens will go to the SlingShot DAO Treasury to be used as the community wishes.

Community first approach to voting

At Slingshot DAO believes in fairness and equality, especially when it comes to voting power. It is understood that there may be whales — e.g., VC investors who may have a larger distribution of tokens than individual community members — but that doesn’t mean that the individual community members should have less of a say in how the DAO operates.

To ensure that everyone has a fair chance, a unique mechanism has been implemented that caps the maximum voting power of all locked investor tokens to 40%. This means that even if investors hold more tokens, they won’t be able to control more than 40% of the votes. The community truly rules the roost.

This ensures that the community is in charge, regardless of the initial distribution schedule, until ALL tokens are fully unlocked and distributed. Investors’ voting rights are limited irrespective of their token holdings, fostering a truly democratic environment. This way, it can be guaranteed that every stakeholder has an equal say in how the DAO operates, and that decisions truly represent the will of the community.
