I am a relative newbie to the world of beer. I intended to begin after I moved to Sheffield, as it is quite keen on it’s beers, but it wasn’t until I gained another half of whom I could sip his brew before having my own that I can truly say I am now a beer drinker. It did take me about 3 months of sips and small glasses but, for the first time, last night I had three beers of my own accord!

I had heard about the Limoncello IPA through Brewdog Sheffield’s twitter account (@brewdogsheff) and thought that it was right up my street and something interesting to try! The sunshine has started to make few appearances up north and so refreshing is top of the agenda.

I was not disappointed. It was just like drinking a bottle of freshly squeezed lemonade, not lemon flavoured, but you could actually taste the lemon. The hops (Simcoe, Citra and Sorachi Ace) are really complemented by zest and juice and this beer is just truly beautiful.

I thought it a little pricey — £6.50 (330ml), however looking at the percentage (9.1%!) and the fact it did last me a good hour and a half to two hours I feel 100% happy to pay that. This beer really fulfils the long cold refreshing summer drink criteria and definitely one to try!
