Voting Options Simplified: Core & BU

Until now, Slush Pool has offered five different voting options regarding the blocksize: Bitcoin Core, Bitcoin Unlimited, 8MB, Bitcoin Classic & BitPay's Bitcoin. But as it turned out recently, many of them are obsolete already. It is therefore that we have decided to remove Classic, 8 MB, BitPay’s Bitcoin from our voting options.

As a consequence of this adjustment, we have changed the status of everyone who had voted for these options back to “Not voted”. We did not want to assume that you would choose any of the remaining options and therefore we rolled back these votes to the default option.

If you wish to vote again, then please go to your Settings, choose Mining and simply select one of current options: Core, BU, or Don’t care. You may also leave the selection to “Not voted,” under which your hashrate will be divided proportionally among the options available.

We expect this to be a fresh change and a one step further towards unique and even more powerful voting system. It will allow you to, for example, vote for BU and, at the same time, support SegWit. We are working on its implementation right now. Once it is up and running, you will be able to choose your favorite combination of Soft Fork & Hard Fork.

We believe this approach is going to give you, miners, more freedom and flexibility to combine different proposals to come in the future.
