Retirement Home - Rehavia

A meeting with Yifat, a marketing woman, and a talk about the essence of Sheltered Housing and retirement homes. About the scarcity in contrast to the abundance the residents are used to.

The difference between private and public areas.

A Visit with Ruth and Malachy, and with Fortuna who went from being lonely to an active community. A visit with Chana, a very active resident and in the beautiful penthouse apartment where an 83 year old resident lives with her husband of 4 years.

Ultra-Orthodox Families

A visit with Rivka Porosh office for planning in the Ultraorthodox community.

A visit with the Krois Family with 17 children, the sisters Yocheved and Ester will be your contacts, the parents are Rachel and Yoelish Krois, known as the “Operation Officer” for the Ultraothodox community.

Kiryat Yovel Public Housing Projects

A meeting and tour with residents of Shtern st. in Kiryat Yovel that will display different aspects of living in the neighborhood.

We’ll visit 3 small apartments, before, during and after work.

In these apartments the important aspect is fresh thinking and redesign, even minimal to create a quality of life, privacy, storage and space. We’ll mee the residents and the volunteer designer Orly, that is working with the families. The Apartments are in buildings numbers 53,59,65.

Garbage Accumulation in the Yards

We’ll examine the back yards to witness the chronic accumulation of garbage and we’ll see if it is possible to create unique, enticing and explanatory garbage disposal products.

Open, Ecological, Community Playplace

Together with the community we created large games like Domino, a Wooden Puzzle, Checkers, Tic Tac Toe, Story time and Bowling.

How is an open place designed and defined? How are the games placed? How do we make the place safe, accessible and respectful?

Abu Tor

The Bezaleli Family, new Olim from the United States, have 3 girls and a boy (7,6,4,2) and live in a 57 sqm 2 bedroom apartment in the yard of a small house built in the 70’. They share a large garden with a Palestinian home. The family chose to live in a small home with a large yard.
