4 Ways to Navigate Airports Like a Pro
Navigating airports can be hectic if you are not prepared. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you board your next flight.
1. Know Your Terminal
Is it terminal 1 or 2? Check it on your air ticket. Make sure you have that figured out before you call a taxi, and tell the driver which terminal you want to go to. Getting out at the wrong terminal may result in you missing the flight if you haven’t planned enough time for the travel.
2. Use Online/Self Check-in
It’s easy and saves a lot of your time. There is no need to stand in long queues. Check your email. Generally, airlines send a link for online check-in a day before the departure.
If you haven’t had a chance to check in online, then find a self check-in kiosk at the airport (most airports have these, nowadays). You can print tags for your check-in luggage at these kiosks. The boarding pass will either be printed or emailed to you.
Drop off your checked-in luggage, and you are good to proceed to security controls.
3. Security Controls — What Are You Not Allowed To Carry?
All the bags you take with you on the flight will be scanned at security controls, and there are things that you are not allowed to carry. This include sharp objects like scissors, cosmetics beyond a certain pack size, and other items. Check what is and is not allowed and pack accordingly.
Empty your water bottles before you queue up for a security check, or else you will risk losing your bottle as it will be confiscated by the security officials.
4. Dress Comfortably
Especially on long haul travel. Avoid tight clothing; you want to wear something soft and breathable. Carry a jacket or a shawl. Sometimes it gets very cold in the plane, and the blanket the airlines provide is not enough so you would need something to keep yourself warm.
Travel for most of us is a joyful activity. Make it more enjoyable by preparing for it and making it super easy. So that you can be in the moment and just chill with zero worries!
