I’m excited to announce the first-ever writing prompt for Small Steps! We’ve all stared at a blank screen or page wondering what to write, so a writing prompt can be a good way of getting started.

In the current environment, financial uncertainty is affecting almost everyone. With this in mind, this month’s writing prompt is:

“What small steps can you take to improve your finances today?”

You could focus on one area of personal finance, such as debt, saving or budgeting, as Denise Treco did in 4 Practical Steps to Get Handle on Your Debt.

Or, you could include several different areas in your piece, as I’ve done in How to Improve Your Finances Today in 3 Easy Steps.

It might be interesting to explore how your emotions and mindset can influence your finances, particularly your spending.

Include the tag money when submitting your story to Small Steps. Please submit your stories by 30th June.

If you haven’t already written for Small Steps, check out the writing guidelines and leave a comment if you’re not already a writer.

If you’d like to write on another topic, please feel free to do so!

I look forward to reading your contributions!

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and sunny June.

Best wishes,

Roz Andrews
