Director Norman Jewison Has Died

Canadian filmmaker Norman Jewison has passed away at age 97 in his home in Los Angeles two days ago.

The director and producer was nominated for seven Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and one Emmy Award. He is most well-known for directing In the Heat of the Night, Moonstruck and Fiddler on the Roof.

In 2003 he received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement for his contributions to Canada’s film indsutry.

Jewison is survived by his wife, his three children and his grandchildren. My condolences go out to his family.
