Its a reprieve to farmers ahead of the expected rains and planting season after Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service KEPHIS has developed a s ticker label that will enable farmers to identify certified seeds. This is in move to curb farmer exploitation from counterfeit seeds during planting seasons which later leads to losses.

The farmers will be required to scratch the label after purchasing seeds from a licensed agro dealer and send the code to 1393 through any network to confirm if the seed is certified. The code will automatically detect if the seed is certified or not for it will give you the name of seed and the date the seed was tested.
