Our public sale is live, we’ve reached 4’000 members on Telegram on most importantly, we’ve achieved a significant milestone on our journey to disrupt the logistics industry.

Partnering with the Best

Smart Containers and its subsidies SkyCell and FoodGuardians have learned early on that partnering with the right strategic and operational partners is of paramount importance for a successful go to market and a fast and deep market penetration.

For FoodGuardians we choose to partner with the industry leader in food crates. Schoeller Allibert has a long and ongoing history; from the beer crate to high tech Returnable Transit Packaging (RTP). Today they serve millions by providing all kinds of reusable and returnable transport packaging. The best-known product among them (most probably) is the foldable green food crate that is used to transport and present food in many grocery stores around the world.

FoodGuardians and Schoeller Allibert will bring to market an overnight delivery box for food and groceries, catering to both individual consumers as well as the hospitality industry.

A Booming Market

With many of the traditional grocery store chains getting into food home delivery and large-scale e-commerce pioneers getting into food home delivery as well this market is already large and expanding in the next few years. Food is still small compared to electronics or other nonfood goods in some countries. This is also due to suboptimal packaging and cooling so far.

The Problem We Face

The food packaging industry is inefficient, uneconomical and highly ecologically damaging today. Immense amounts of waste are produced and disposed in landfills. The problem is twofold: reuse of the legacy packaging is economically not worthwhile, and the legacy packaging is not made to be reused.

Food packaging also has problems with continuity in cooling. Ice melts and when there is a holdup in the shipping schedule the food transported goes bad and thereby unnecessary food waste is created.

In our whitepaper we describe the competitive set as follows:

99% of the market consists of one-way Styrofoam boxes, with negative environmental impact. Only 3% of Styrofoam used worldwide is recycled. The rest is burnt, creating harmful acid residues that send pollutants into the atmosphere.

FoodGuardians containers reduce total cost of shipping by up to 20% compared to existing Styrofoam boxes, since they replace heavy ice content with efficient, lighter and more reliable cooling technology. Therefore, the shipped content per box is higher, which lowers total costs. All FoodGuardians containers are reusable and recyclable, making them an ecologically sound proposition.

FoodGuardians outperforms the competitive set in all dimensions. The cooling technology is proven in a market that knows zero tolerance and no room for failure. Smart Containers first subsidiary „SkyCell“ developed and successfully operates a fleet of air freight containers for transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.

The FoodGuardians containers are constructed with the very same high tech equipment developed for the SkyCell containers. They are equipped with state-of-the-art IoT sensors and tracking devices to ensure a beyond industry standards temperature tracking and data storing.

This all results in you as the consumer getting the chance to enjoy your food “one day fresher”. So as an investor you profit from the future success of Smart Containers and by that FoodGuardians in two ways. On one hand you will profit from the dividend share you get withholding the SMARC tokens and on the other hand, you will get your food delivered to your store fresher than ever and ecologically sound.
