A career as a chef: “Harrods was a brilliant starting place.”

Harrods, located in Knightsbridge, London, is a department store which offers careers including apprenticeships. With its many restaurants, chefs are required to ensure food is cooked and prepared to the best standards.

Speaking to Nathan, a commis chef at The Grill, Harrods, he explains “Harrods was a brilliant starting place” and “it has been great to understand and learn a lot about the cuisine.” He has acquired many skills at Harrods and began working there on an apprenticeship and had the opportunity to work in six or seven restaurants.

He also mentions that his plans in the upcoming months, with the experience he gained at Harrods, will be moving to the Lake District to work at a Michelin star restaurant.
