Poor mental health is something that many university students suffer with, and the majority find themselves struggling to ask for help, not knowing what accommodations are available to them, and seeing their debilitating problems as failure.

Jess McCallum, aged 20, has been struggling with her mental health for years, and autism has been an additional struggle for her. It took her two and a half years to get diagnosed, and this disrupted her life.

However, the University of Portsmouth has been a great help. It has given Jess the accommodations she needs to thrive in the university environment, and this has lessened the weight on her shoulders, and had a positive impact on her mental health.
